Over 600 years ago, a man who became a king had ambitions to reign over the biggest empires in Europe as Emperor. He decided to build a city worthy of being a capital, a city that would be known the world over for centuries to come. This man was Charles IV. The city was Prague.
In our free Castle Tour, we will start our adventure with one of the most magnificent architectural marvels, the Charles Bridge. This landmark has united the two sides of the city since the 14th century and is one of Charles IV’s greatest achievements.
From there, we make our way via tram to Prague Castle, just like the locals! The castle is on a fortified location on a hill – overlooking the entire city for centuries. Once atop, we wander through this district, then through the walls into the castle grounds themselves. It is the largest castle complex in the world. Get ready to roam through picturesque courtyards: learn about legendary figures like Rudolph II, Holy Roman Emperor, who was at once a madman and great king, and Maria Theresa, a Hapsburg who brought freedom to the women of Bohemia.
We, of course, encounter the impressive Cathedral of St Vitus. Discover the thousand-year-long history of the lands where this cathedral sits today, its secrets and stories.
The wealth of history that surrounds the castle is impossible to detail in a short description. The only way to find out more is to join us on our Free Castle Tour!
Accessible by stroller or wheelchair and, of course, the youngest (and furriest) members of the family are welcome too.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: Bookings of over 8 people (or multiple bookings amounting to over 8) are not accepted on our free tours. Please contact us via email at email@example.com or by phone/ Whatsapp at +420 725 981 679 to organise your tour with us. We look forward to welcoming you.
Ian is great. We got there early and we were able to get on to an earlier tour without any issue. It was entertaining and informative in lots of ways - Ian brought the city history to life for us and is full of useful tips and advice too for people navigating… More Prague. In particular it meant that we could really appreciate what we were looking at when we saw the Astronomical Clock, the Old Town Square and the Jewish Quarter. Big thanks and highly recommended for any ages and walking abilities. A great half-day.
I have taken an infinite number of tours all around Europe, and Mike’s was hands down the best tour I’ve ever been in. Great story telling, knew how to keep everyone engaged throughout the whole tour. We liked it so much that we decided to join him for… More another one the next day! (Prague Jewish Quarter your and Prague’s Castle tour) Recommended to wherever has the opportunity to take a tour with him! Leaving tour aside, he’s an incredibly unique and interesting person to chat with! Thank you!
Arriving in Prague on Saturday we decided on doing the Old Town/ Jewish Quarter tour, our guide Paul was excellent, extremely knowledgeable and made it extremely interesting- Charles IV! So much so that we’ve booked on another one, we did the dark side… More tour with Scott on Sunday night and then the castle tour with Sarah on Monday in the snow. Sarah was so enthusiastic about Prague that we then booked the 20th century tour with her the next day. All tour guides were excellent and gave us insights of Prague we would have missed on our own plus a brief overview of the history of this city. Thoroughly recommend this company and all three of the guides we had. Thanks Paul, Scott and Sarah - you made this trip to Prague extremely enjoyable despite the cold weather.
Scott is an amazing story teller. I joined his tour on old town and Jewish quarter at first and immediately decided to come back the next day for the new town tour. It only got better. He also gave us an extensive list of suggestions on where to go for… More food, tourist spots etc. I would recommend to go for one of the tours when you just arrive Prague for a general overview.
Mike from 1 2 tours was the best choice ever! We had a blast touring the city with him and BEST OF ALL, he knows the best inside information when it comes to the Prague Castle! Highly recommend, Will definitely book one of his tours next time we are in… More Prague

We had a wonderful walking tour with Scott! He is a wealth of information, kind and funny. Booking the tour and connecting with the guide was very easy. At the conclusion of the tour, we could've kept going it was so engaging. A highlight of our… More time in Prague!
I did the Old Town and Jewish Quarter tour as well as the Prague Palace tour. I was fortunate to have Scott as the tour guide for both. A very entertaining historian with lots of clever funny stories. It is clear he is passionate about his work. The… More almost 3 hours of each tour went very quickly. He is considerate to the pace and provides many recommendations of places to eat and entertainment. Highly recommend these tours
